Evaluation of Specialty Training & BBT programme

An Evaluation of Specialty Training and the Broad Based Training Programme

Information Sheet for Trainees in Specialist Training

Please read this information sheet carefully before deciding whether or not to participate. You are welcome to ask questions about the study and your participation in it.

The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRCs) has commissioned us to evaluate changes in specialty training. The evaluation will focus on the Broad Based Training (BBT) Programme which was introduced as a pilot in England in 2013. Our principal aim is to evaluate the differences between the experiences of those on the BBT programme compared with those following a traditional programme. The project began in October 2013 and will continue for 2 years. You have been asked to participate because we are interested in your experiences of training.
