Application Form - Inter Programme Transfer 2018

Application Guidance - Inter Programme Transfer 2018

Inter Programme Transfers (IPT) to commence August 2018

If you are a GP trainee in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex GP School and wish to be considered for an IPT to continue your GP training in another part of HEE KSS, you will need to complete an application form.

Please note that eligibility for a transfer is determined by the criteria and trainees will have to complete 12 months in post before they can move and are subject to the trainee receiving a satifactory ARCP outcome.

In addition, even if a transfer is agreed by the Training Programme Directors (TPDs) where the trainee is at present, the transfer can go ahead only if the receiving programme area has the capacity to do this.

Training vacancies in other programme areas may not be readily available and arrangements therefore may take some time to set up. Please note that only transfers that are arranged through the HEE KSS IPT process can be honoured.

Transfers for the final year of GP training (ST3) are usually easier to organise, as finding the appropriate combination of hospital posts for a GP trainee transferring for the ST2 year, and who has already done certain posts, can be very difficult.

To apply for a transfer please go to the portal https://lasepgmdesupport.hee.nhs.uk/support/home

  • The application window opens at on Monday 5 February 2018 and will close on Monday 5 March 2018 at 4.00pm. No applications will be accepted after this time. If are are applying for a transfer it is your responsibility to ensure that paperwork is signed where appropriate and all documentation is returned via the portal by the closing date. All incomplete and late paperwork will automatically be rejected at panel.

Inter Deanery Transfers

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE NATIONAL IDT PROCESS:

The National Inter Deanery Transfer (IDT) process has been established to support trainees who have had an unforeseen and significant change in their personal circumstances since the commencement of their current training programme which requires a move to a different region. The process is managed by the National IDT team (Health Education England London & South East) on behalf of the Conference of Postgraduate Medical Deans (COPMeD), Health Education England (HEE) and all UK regions.

In order to provide a consistent, transparent and robust process for all trainees, the National IDT team will make all decisions on eligibility and allocations in accordance with the published guidelines and criteria. You can read these guidelines and criteria as well as find out much more about the process by visiting the National IDT webpages, which have been migrated to a new home on the portal: https://lasepgmdesupport.hee.nhs.uk/support/home
