In collaboration with Health Education England School of General Practice, Canterbury Christ Church University have launched a Primary Care Fellowship in General Practice to enable a post CCT GP (registered as an independent practitioner on the National Performers List) to develop a special interest in education and research related to the education and training of the GP and primary care workforce.


Fellowship Aims:


The academic qualification undertaken will be an MSc in Health and Wellbeing (with the possibility of a themed award in General Practice).


The overarching aims of the programme independent of the individual award are:

 

  • To enhance the function of Primary Care professionals within the community care setting
  • To develop and demonstrate high level research capability skills
  • To develop and demonstrate high level skills in leadership and management
  • To have successfully completed an MSc in Health and Wellbeing

Programme:


During the duration of the 12 month Fellowship the Fellow will undertake an integrated programme of clinical activities and academic study with a weekly commitment of:

  • 6 sessions per week in clinical practice setting
  • 4 sessions per week within the academic setting or engaged in project work

Remuneration:


The Fellow will be a partner / employed by their host organisation. The Bursary provided will support:

 

  • Tuition Fees for the registration of the Award
  • Financial support for the Fellow to enable them to be fully able to engage in the 4 sessions / week of the academic programme
