KSS Deanery undertakes routine LEP visits as part of its Quality Management process to improve the quality of education and training and ensure that GMC standards for the delivery of postgraduate medical education are being met.

The issues identified during the visits which refer to mandatory requirements of the GMC Standard - 'The Trainee Doctor' - are discussed and followed up by the Quality management Steering Group (QMSG). When all the identified mandatory requirements are fully addressed the report is signed off by the QMSG.

The Quality Department produces summaries of the reports and these are published on the website in order to share the good practice in LEPs across the region.

FOUNDATION SCHOOL VISIT REPORTS SUMMARIES

As part of the quality management of the Foundation training programme, the South Thames Foundation Schools undertakes regular visits to LEPs on behalf of KSS Deanery in order to fulfil its quality management role as defined by the GMC. This is to ensure compliance with the GMC regulatory requirements outlined in ‘The Trainee Doctor’ and ultimately that all KSS Foundation trainees receive consistently high levels of training.

More information about the STFS visiting process and the KSS LEP visit report summaries is available from this webpage.
